Our work with Children & Young People
Members of Children’s Parliament host a workshop at the Scottish AI Summit 2023 in Glasgow
Children & AI Project
Children’s Parliament, in partnership with The Alan Turing Institute and the Scottish AI Alliance, have been exploring children’s views on artificial intelligence and how it intersects with children’s rights.
Phase One ‘Exploring children’s views on AI’ of the project worked with children from four schools across Scotland to find out their current knowledge of AI and what they think future possibilities and risks are for AI. The children had lots of thoughts on some of the specific ways that AI might affect them as children.
In Phase Two we will dive in deeper to explore how children can impact the development of AI systems, concentrating on AI and Education, Fairness and Bias, and Safety and Security.

Me, Myself & AI: 2023 Schools Competition
We hosted our first ever Schools Competition in the run-up to the Scottish AI Summit 2023. With the help of launch partner Ada Scotland Festival and prize partner The National Robotarium, young learners were challenged to answer the question “How does AI impact my life?” in the most creative way possible.
